Hi Guys!!
If there's one thing we learned in East Horsley is that we can make our activism more appealing by means of arts, pictures, songs, drama and so many different techniques, not only through writing. Those ways of portraying our activism, our obstacles and challenges were much more powerful that 1000 writen words... The song, the acts or pictures, appealed to some many different emotions that words don't ussually get to. And as a result we sang, we danced, we acted, but foremost, we put our message forward.
THIS IS HOW WE DID SO BY DIFFERENT GROUPS:
*GROUP 1: Jyoti, Asanda, Branko, Yunan, Sara and Stephanie decided to express themselves by means of acting a competition:
*GROUP 2: Michael, Ella, Andreas, Lety, Oumayma and Amit expressed their message by an aphatic person who instead of acting questions the other people's action:
*GROUP 3: Deboragh is a reporter, reporting a protest against AIDS by Atulya, Ibrahim, Zuhal, Laura and Thiérri:
*GROUP 4: Jason, Mfon, Nick, Mahar, Maihan and Diego express their view of the world by a powerful song:
*GROUP 5: Kandasamy, Lucia, Yeshoshua, Aboud, Meriko and Lala Rock their way:
*GROUP 6: Juan Manuel, Lety, Lina, Nina, Amukelami and Oscar recite a truly inspiring poetry:
*GROUP 7: Rhadeena, Whitney, Elene, Muhamed, Chris and Khalis "Take buts out of the way":
*GROUP 8: Lauren, Frank, Mauricio, Sagal, Mimi and Jhonny put a strong anti individualistic message forward:
*GROUP 9: Luke, Lotta, Joseta, Christine, Seraj and Jia Hui, "FIGHT OPPRESION":
*GROUP 10: My Group, hehe, Sanya, Filip, Gillion, Yang Yang, Donjeta and I sang Spice Girls song's melody with different lyrics to express our will to change society's mindset( I DIDN'T HAVE OUR VIDEO, BUT ENJOY THE AUTHENTIC SONG hehehe):
Lyrics: I'll tell you what i want what I really really want, I wanna, I wanna, I wanna, really change the world!
We have all shown than although from different backgrounds, speaking different languages and differences in acting and singing (my crappy singing hehe), we all faced similar obstacles, we all had a strong sense to get involved in changing society and foremost we all communicated by means of our activism. This universal language will take us far as a united team, making the Global Activist Network possible.
Bests,
Juan
