The Road to Davos is not gone, nor have we stopped Learning From The Future. These two British Council projects both contribute to Global Changemakers in our ongoing engagement with promising young activists, influencers and leaders.Global Changemakers will take social activists and entrepreneurs between 16 and 25 and train, mentor and support them in bringing about positive change in their communities.
In January 2009, 60 young changemakers from around the world will meet near London, England for a week of workshops, training and discussions, to bond as a group and to receive a boost in their activism. Six of these, selected by the overall group, will become next year's Davos 6. They will go on to Davos, Switzerland and take part in the World Economic Forum's annual meeting. In a special youth panel, but also in other sessions, they will be able to give a voice to the concerns of the Guildford 60 and those of young people in their countries.
In the coming weeks until Guildford and Davos 2009 this website will introduce you to Global Changemakers, both from 2009 and from previous years. Stay tuned!
P.S.: If you're interested in the blogs written for Road to Davos, they're all available to read on www.global-changemakers.net.

Hi there. This is Caroline from the British Council office in Switzerland. I’d like to tell you about an amazing young woman called Rishika, from India. We invited her and five other brilliant young people to the Global Humanitarian Forum in Geneva last summer, where they shared a platform with Kofi Annan and told a distinguished audience about the humanitarian impact of climate change in their communities. Well Rishika went on to be one of five young people nominated for the Children’s Peace Prize. Although she didn’t win it in the end, we are so proud of her!
